Good morning GH, It is just past 12:00 p.m. in "The City."
As you can quickly see, I didn't get up last night to blog. I liked it.
We have a current temperature of 77° under sunny skies as we head for today's high of78°. also under sunny skies. My DTWS is reporting 82° from its sensor on the front porch. The sun rose this morning @ 6:35 a.m. and will set later tonight @ 9:05 p.m. Yes, the days are indeed getting shorter. Sigh.
I requested an appointment with the yak doctor earlier. It may be a few weeks, but that's the way the yak crumbles. I checked with the local physical therapy provider, and I need a referral from a physician. A circular system. My yak hurts, ergo I need therapy. But, the system is designed to be sure that everyone profits, except the patient. Once again, sigh.
The Cubs were off yesterday, but they maintained their 1st place position in the NL Central over the 2nd place Brewers who were also off yesterday. The Cubs have a current record of 56 - 48 and welcome the AZ D'backs to the "Friendly Confines" tonight @ 8:05 p.m.
Worthy of note is that the Cubs traded some minor league prospects to the Tigers for back up catcher Alex Avila, who is 30 years old, and relief pitcher Justin Wilson, who is 29 years of age and won't be eligible for free agency until 2018. Both have more upside in Chicago than they did in Detroit, I hope.
The Tigers lost to the Yankees yesterday and stayed moored in 4th place in the AL Central. The Tigers record of 47 - 57 is not getting them to the post season this year. The Tigers and the Yankees play tonight @ 7:05 p.m.
My beloved Red Sox handily won a gem over the Indians, 6 - 2. That keeps the Sox in 2nd place in the AL East with a record of 58 - 49. Unfortunately, the Tigers didn't help by losing to the Yankees. The Sox and the Indians play tonight @ 7:10 p.m.
The Caps crushed the Captains last night 15 - 2 to stay solidly in 1st place in the MWL East with a 26 - 9 record and a three game lead over the 2nd place TinCaps. The Caps and the Captains play again tonight @ 7:00 p.m.
Mary went, ha, ha, to the arrival of the Coast Guard ships yesterday. She took some pictures to memorialize her visit.
Otherwise, not much is happening. I am off the the chiropractor for my 12:30 appointment. I am still waiting for a return message from the yak specialist. Mary is chatting and invoicing. Ciao.
