Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."
In the interest of leaving room for our excursion pictures from yesterday, I am going to keep my weather and baseball reports brief.

We have a current temperature of 48° as we drop to the overnight low of 44° under mostly clear skies. The sun will rise @ 6:22 a.m. and set later @ 9:00 p.m.

Baseball news from yesterday finds the Cubs still in 1st place in the NL Central following their 3 - 1 win over the Reds. Kyle Hendricks sparkled on the mound and at the plate. Today's game against the Reds begins @ 6:40 p.m. EDT, with Yu Darvish trying for his 3d win against three losses.

My beloved Red Sox got an outstanding 17K performance from Chris Sale, but the Sox squandered his effort and lost to the Rockies, 4 - 5 in 11 innings. Tonight, the Sox and the Rockies go again @ 7:10 p.m.

The Tigers were never in the game as they lost to the Astros, 4 - 11. Tonight's game begins @ 7:10 p.m., when former Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander goes against the Tigers rookie pitcher Gregory Soto.

The Caps fell to the Lansing Lugnuts, 5 - 6. The Caps and the Lugnuts play today @ 10:35 a.m.

We had a terrific excursion aboard the Grand Lady Riverboat yesterday afternoon. The weather was great and the scenery provided many terrific photo ops. I'll add several now.

One riverside view of the Grand Ravines Lodge that Mary, Ed, and I visited a couple of weeks ago.

A great shot of one of the Bald Eagles that lives along the Grand river. We could not determine if this was the male or female of the pair, because although the female is larger, the size difference is so slight that you would need to see them side by side to tell.

One of many shots that I took heading upriver.

Another shot of the lodge.

The riverside aerie of the bald eagles we saw.

Where kayakers should be paddling, there were only these jet skiers.

Mary tells me that these flowers are Marsh Marigolds.

Turtles sunning themselves

Same.
Today we have some errands to run after I do some kitchen things. A trip to the carpet store for our new mud-room carpet, a stop at the big-box home center, a stop at the big-box nearly everything store and then a visit to the chiropractor.Ciao.
