Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 12:30 a.m. in "The City."

GTTSD and I are here in my office before we go off to bed. Ginger is in search of treats, but I'm not of a mind to give them to her. However, Mary told me that Ginger's skills as a trainspotter were exhibited early yesterday morning. I was fast asleep and when Ginger heard the approach of the train heading south, she bolted from her hide-e-hole beneath the bed and ran to her perch on the back of the couch. She let Mary know that the train was passing and when it was gone. She is one amazing trainspotter.

We did a little research into Ginger's proclivities and learned that if you want a dog to alert you when strangers or other unknown things approach or pass by your living space, then a terrier is the dog for the job. We adopted Ginger as a companion, but we got an alert dog in the bargain.

Yesterday's weather was cold but the sun was shining for the first time in about 10 days. It was a sight to behold. The current temperature is 24° under cloudy skies. However, with the wind, it feels much colder. Later today, the high temperature will fall down to 20° with 16 mph winds. Since the sun will rise today @ 7:58 a.m. and set later @ 5:59 p.m., we'll have slightly more than 11 hours of daylight today.

Since this is Groundhog's Day, we'll find out later how much more winter we can expect. If I were a groundhog, I'd be upset that they woke me and winter would be very long-lived just to spite them.

We made the trek to the hospital for my fourth knee injection. We had lunch at the salad bar in the cafeteria and that was delicious. Since we didn't have to be at our book club meeting until 3:00 p.m., we ran a few errands and then shared the blueberry muffins that I had baked yesterday during the meeting. They were well received. However, Mary made me fess up and tell the others that they were made from a mix that we had purchased last year from Blueberry Heaven in downtown GH. The leftover muffins were shared with the museum staff lady upstairs and then with the waitstaff at our favorite watering hole.

Today we hope to stay in and read and I'll play with the girls after the ritual morning with the fur-children in the back forty. Mary is working on a sock that she needs four knitting needles to make. I am awed by the results as I can't even effectively use two needles without making errors. I am finally learning how to play a B7 chord on my guitars. I have always had problems with that particular chord. So, there are things that I can do with positive results. Plus, I can bake things which itself is a skill. I make errors baking too, but they are easily remedied with another try.

That looks like enough, Ciao.
