Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and
across the world. It is just past 5:30 a.m. in "The City.
The current temperature is 50° under mostly-clear skies. The sun will
rise today @ 7:13 a.m. and set later @ 8:12 p.m. In between, we should see a high temperature of 70° under sunny-skies.
There are no advisories, watches, statements, nor warnings in effect at the time of this writing. However, the NWS is forecasting a 50% chance for AM showers tomorrow morning. As always, we will have to wait and see.
I'm going to keep this one short, because I have other things that I want/need to get to.
The 2nd place Cubs are in Milwaukee tonight to face the 3rd place Brewers @ 7:10 p.m. EDT, in a NL Central battle for all the marbles.
My beloved 3rd place in the AL East Red Sox defeated the 1st place in the AL Central Twins last night, 6 - 2. The pitching of Eduardo Rodriguez and five RBIs from Mookie Betts sealed the deal. The Sox and the Twins play again tonight @ 7:10 p.m.
The Tigers @ 40 - 97 and in 5th place in the AL Central dropped yet another one to the 51 - 89, 4th place in the AL Central Royals, 4 - 5. They battle it out again today @ 1:15 p.m.
We had both ends of the train run on the RSTL yesterday. At 8:50 a.m., MMRR locomotives 2019 and 2025 were observed heading south, dead-heading en route to picking up the cars for the post midday run @ 1:20 p.m. They were then observed towing four CHCs, two DBTCs, and one GTC heading north.
Earlier in the day, I stayed behind with the fur-children while Mary walked to the Farmer's Market for some fresh produce. While there, she purchased the blueberries for the pie I'll be baking later today, along with some produce for the less fortunate in the Tri-Cities area that will be collected and distributed.
After lunch, we sat and read our shared non-fiction book and then took a short walk with the fur-children to the library, before we went out solo, albeit on foot, to the downtown of our fair city. A little shopping, a stop at JWs, and then home for a dinner of vegan Italian meatballs and a mixed salad of garden-fresh cherry tomatoes and cucumbers with onions and vegan sour cream dressing ala Mary.
We retired to the Media-Room to watch yet another Rom-Com, this one much better than our previous selection. After the movie, Mary sat with me for a while and then retired to the downstairs to watch something and do some additional cross-stitching on my apron. I watched part of a car show and then I was so tired that I went off to bed until about 4:00 a.m. this morning.
I rebooted my slow computer a short time ago and while I waited, I redrew the flower on our mud-room chalkboard. I like this effort much better. I'll leave it to Mary to decide.
Today, there is nothing is on tap except for that aforementioned pie baking and some additional reading. Later, I will attempt to watch the Bears and the Packers kick-off, pardon the pun, the 2019 NFL season. How long I watch depends on the level of play. Ciao.
